Rustington seeks heroes who make it tick

RUSTINGTON is ready to recognise residents who make the village a better place.

Nominations from the public are now being invited by Rustington Parish Council for its 2012 Parishioners’ Awards.

Two awards can be made each year, one for an individual and one for a group/organisation in recognition of outstanding public service to the community. All Rustington residents or parish-based organisations (including voluntary groups and professionals) are eligible..

Individuals, groups and organisations from outside the parish, who make an outstanding contribution for the benefit of the community of Rustington, may also be considered for awards.

Each recipient is presented with a cash prize, together with a commemorative scroll, dish or trophy (suitably engraved), to keep as a memento.

The 2012 recipients will be announced in June, and receive their awards at the reception following the council’s annual civic service in September.

Detailed nominations should be sent to Carole Ward, Clerk, Rustington Parish Council, Council Offices, 34 Woodlands Avenue, Rustington, BN16 3HB by April 23.
