Michelle is in training for two marathons in the space of a week, in Brighton and then London, and on her shorter runs Archie joins her, either on his scooter or cycling.

“He loves it, and it’s great he is supporting me like this,” said Michelle, of Kirdford Avenue, Rustington, who hopes to raise £500 in sponsorship for the mental health charity MIND Brighton and Hove.

Single mum Michelle, 31, took up running less than four years ago to lose weight she had gained during pregnancy.

She has already completed the Brighton Half Marathon three times, the Brighton Marathon twice and a London 10k, as well as attempting, although not completing, a gruelling 100km run from London to Brighton last year.

Running has changed my life. I love going for a long run with my headphones on, listening to my music. It clears my head, it’s great for my body and my mind,” said Michelle, who is a sales manager for a games distribution company in Rustington.

The Brighton race is on April 6 and her first London Marathon a week later.

“I think I can recover in time. I’m used to the route for Brighton, and I’m really excited to have got a place for London, as so many people apply for it.”

Having raised thousands of pounds from her previous runs, Michelle hopes her supporters and Gazette readers will be generous again this time. Donations can be made at www.justgiving.com/Michelle-Hudson10
