RSPCA Christmas Fayre

THE SUSSEX East & Hastings Branch RSPCA raised almost five hundred pounds at their Christmas Fair, held at St Martha's church hall Little Common.

Bargain hunters queued to get into the event, eager to buy from the many stalls selling a wide range of items.

These included jewellery, hand-made cards, bric a brac, games, home-made cakes, mince pies, and books. There was also a raffle, a tombola and refreshments were served.

Chairman of the branch, Mary Bristow said she was "delighted" to see so many people supporting the event adding:

"This is a great way to raise funds - we are very pleased to have raised a total of 489, and thank everyone for their support. We are doing our best to keep the branch open but we have so many animals coming in - we ask people to please keep supporting us."

The local branch, which is self-funding and self-supporting is currently under threat of closure through lack of funds.
