Rolls-Royce gift Chichester teenager with prom car

THE most iconic luxury car manufacturer in the world went out of its way to ensure a teenager arrived at his prom 
in style.

Chichester High School for Boys pupil Adam Brombley, from Emsworth, had a shock when he walked out of his front 
door in his suit – to find a Rolls-Royce Phantom convertible waiting for him.

Adam’s mum Julie said: “Rolls-Royce were so kind in sending a phantom convertible to take Adam to his prom. This is not something they usually do and we were very touched that they sorted this out for Adam. He had no idea the car was coming and was delighted when it arrived.”

Adam was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in August 2013 after doctors found a large tumour growing in his chest and into the right atrium of his heart.

Following months of intensive and gruelling treatment, he finished chemotherapy last summer and recently learnt his cancer was in remission.

Global corporate communications manager at Rolls-Royce, Andrew Ball, said: “Adam is an inspirational young man and I had the pleasure of presenting him with the Observer Community Award for Special Achievement on behalf of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars last year. When his mum, Julie, asked if we might be able to surprise him with a chauffeured Rolls-Royce for his prom, we were delighted to provide him with the ultimate car for the occasion.”

Adam has now finished his GCSEs and is going to Havant College in September to do a BTEC extended diploma in sport which he is ‘very excited’ about.

He has also been doing some fundraising for some of the charities who helped his family during his illness and raised £1,100 for Dreamflight recently by organising a quiz night, and he is doing a tandem skydive the day after his birthday in July in aid of Make A Wish Foundation.
