Robertsbridge village voice

This afternoon Friday 15th June is when PCSO Tina Grevett will be holding her next meet and greet in Robertsbridge High Street at 3pm.

If you have any gripes or enquiries about things happening in the village this is when you can get some advice.

Wednesday 20th June is the next Tea Dance Party at Robertsbridge Club starting at 2pm and going through until 4.30pm. This costs just £3.50 per person and includes dancing, tea and cake and lots of chatting and the raffle. All profits go to the Bonfire Society.

Thursday 21st June there will be a Whist Drive at Robertsbridge Hall starting at 7pm. This is a very friendly evening and everyone is welcome.

Robertsbridge Bonfire Society will be holding its next meeting on Thursday 21st June at Robertsbridge Club starting at 8.30pm.Subs are due to be paid and you have up until August or else will no longer be a member. If you fancy joining go along to the meeting or pick up a form from Sandie at the Floral Boutique.

Saturday 23rd June RoCoCo and special guests are holding a Celebration Concert at the United Reformed Church starting at 7.30pm. This is the proper time not 7pm as shown on some of the posters. This concert will include some lighthearted songs from all around the UK and further a field. There will no entry fee but any donations given will be for MacMillan Cancer Support and will be very much appreciated. For any further information please contact 880740.

East Sussex Disability Association Battle and District Committee held a street collection on Saturday May 26th in Robertsbridge High Street. A grand total of £168.00 was raised and the committee would like to thank the collectors and supporters for such a splendid effort.

The family of the late Mary Jolley, sometimes known as May, would like to give their heartfelt thanks for all the sympathy, kindness and support they have all received over the last few weeks.

To finish with, don’t forget your Dads on Sunday it is Fathers Day. Breakfast in bed, special lunch or even just cut the grass and let him put his feet up. Sometimes we make a fuss of mums on Mothering Sunday and can sometimes forget about Dads. Just let him know he is loved no matter how you do it, no matter how big or small.

Football: Tomorrow (Saturday) we are holding a ‘Prize Bingo’ at Robertsbridge Club 8p.m. There will also be a cash prize for the ‘Flyer’.

Stoolball: We were unable to raise a Ladies team to go to Pett last Thursday, also we could not get enough for Hooe’s Tournament last Sunday. On Sunday (17th) the Mixed are at Brightling’s Tournament (10a.m.) at Netherfield while the Mixed are at home to Brightling on Tuesday (19th) and at home to Icklesham on Thursday(21st) with both matches starting at 7p.m.

Fishing: The season starts tomorrow and the Rother Fishery Association yearly tickets for fishing the Rother are now available from Alan Apps (01580-880877) @ £3.25 for anybody over the age of 12. Don’t forget to get your rod licence from the Post Office.
