Restaurant looking for new premises

The owners Pelham House has not to renewed Circa's contract and has taken over the running of the restaurant.

Susana Mascarenhas, sales and marketing manager at Pelham House, said: 'Circa's contract expired after three years and we are at point when we can confidently take over that side of things.'

The layout of the restaurant has also been changed and is now based in two rooms overlooking the gardens.

Circa said it was looking for new premises in Lewes and would continue to provide outside catering. It is the caterer for Laughton Barns, Mercer's Barn and Northease Manor.

Ashley Renton, managing director of Circa, said: 'We're currently investigating a number of different premises across the town, and we look forward to bringing our culinary fireworks back to our home town as a flagship, fine-dining restaurant before too long.'
