Rail sleepers theft denied

A MAN has denied stealing two wooden railway sleepers from a builders merchant in Bognor Regis. Jason Perry, of Leytonstone, was alleged to have driven his blue Ford transit van to the fencing perimeter of Build Centre, in Southern Cross industrial estate, and made off with timber on May 11 this year.

The sleepers were worth 44. He denied the charge of theft at Chichester Crown Court and will appear again at the court on January 19 next year. He was released on unconditional bail.
