PURSE STOLEN FROM SHOPPER

An elderly woman's purse was stole while she was shopping in Waitrose at Hailsham.

The purse was taken from her handbag atabout 3pm on August 24.

The woman didn't see anyone close to her trolley and had only left it for a short time to assist another shopper. The purse is described as maroon/black in colour and contained cash, credit cards and personal items.

Sergeant Dave Price commented: 'I would like to remind people not to allow themselves to get distracted when out shopping. Always keep purses and other valuables safe. If a shopper sees anyone who they think is acting suspiciously they should inform shop staff straight away.'
