Poppy appeal raises thousands at Peasmarsh shop

The legion’s Peasmarsh branch chairman Tony Curd helped collect donations in exchange for poppies at the Jempson’s superstore.
Mr Curd has been a member of the legion for more than 35 years and said the support from residents was fantastic.

Hide Ad“On behalf of the British Legion I would like to thank Jempson’s for their continued support,” he said.
“We have been collecting at the store in its varying guises for the last 30 years, and this years appeal has been one of the most successful yet.
“We always get a fantastic response from both customers and staff and we are always made to feel welcome.
“We enjoy going there and will continue to do so.”
Stephen Jempson thanked his customers for their generosity.
“It is always a pleasure to welcome Mr Curd,” he said.
“He has selflessly collected for the poppy appeal for many years, and we are delighted that this one has been so successful.
