Police release name of woman found dead in Littlehampton park

POLICE have formally identified the body of a woman found in Mewsbrook Park yesterday afternoon (Thursday, October 2).

Vera Clevett, 81, had been missing from her home, in St Catherine's Road, Littlehampton, since Wednesday evening.

She was found just after 4pm.

A police spokesman said the death was not being treated as suspicious.

Vera, who had three children, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, had lived in Littlehampton for more than 60 years.

She had spent most of her working life as a cook at Rowlands House, which is now the Ormesby Centre, and the RAF Benevolent Fund respite centre, Princess Marina House, in Rustington.
