Officers armed with a warrant this week raided a property in Little Common Road.

Two women, one in her thirties and another in her forties, were arrested in the three-bedroomed terraced property on suspicion of running a brothel.

Sergeant Mark Belton of the Bexhill Neighbourhood Policing Team said five uniformed officers carried out the raid at 1.15pm on Wednesday.

The two women were taken to Eastbourne police station for questioning and later released on police bail.

Inspector Martin Mann said: "Both women appeared to be Oriental and therefore the sex trade has to be considered. We will be conducting investigations to see if this is a case of people trafficking."
