Police hunt Wick knife-point robbers

A WICK betting shop was held up at knife-point yesterday (Monday, February 14).

It happened just before 7pm at William Hill in Wick Parade, when two men threatened a female member of staff with a small knife, and demanded the money from a gaming machine.

The made off, with about £180, in a black saloon, believed to be a Vauxhall Corsa, which already had two men inside.

Detective Constable Yahya Aslam said: “We would like to hear from anyone who was in the Wick Parade area early yesterday evening and saw anything suspicious, in particular that black car.”

The man was the knife was described as being between 21 and 25, of mixed race, very skinny, and about 5ft 5in, wearing a black coat with a t-shirt underneath, black jeans, and oversized beanie hat.

The second man was said to be in the same age range, white, of medium build and about 6ft tall, He was wearing a blue beanie hat with a pattern, thick glasses, light blue jeans and a coat.

They had both been in the shop about 30 minutes before the incident.
