Police are appealing for witnesses after a samurai sword was stolen during an Eastbourne burglary.

The 35-inch Japanese-style sword was taken from a flat in Cavendish place between 4pm on March 20 and 4pm on March 21, according to Sussex Police.

It has a 12 inch hilt, missing the end cap, and a brown sheath.

It is hoped the sword will be distinctive and anyone being offered or hearing of a similar item should contact police.
