Little Charlie Cruisey was on lockdown for his second birthday, but that didn’t stop it being celebrated in style.

Officers presented the tot with a homemade card, gift and sang to him on Easter Sunday (April 12).

Grandmother Fiona Cruisey had made a special request for the officers to do so, as Charlie’s present from her had not arrived.

The 55-year-old, who is currently shielding and cannot see her grandson, said, “I felt a bit disappointed I couldn’t be with him and his big present wasn’t going to be with him.

“I’d seen something similar happen on the news so I wrote to them and they said they would be happy to do it.

“I was gobsmacked when I saw the video. For them to take time out to do that in their busy lives and jobs.”

Officers from Hailsham and Uckfield police forces turned up to wish Charlie a happy birthday.

“He loved it,” said Fiona, “He calls them ‘woo woos’. Anything with a flashing light. He thinks they’re brilliant.”

She said the police also made mum Tallulah’s day.

The cute video, which has been shared on social media, has so far got more than 1,400 views.
