A young Ashington girl is urging people to keep parks clean by clearing up after themselves.

Ava Snadden, nine, was inspired to draw a poster encouraging people to stay tidy after spotting rubbish in a playground in Ashington

Her grandfather Richard Shelton said: “I am proud of Ava and the fact that she wanted to highlight the need to protect public spaces and make them a pleasant place for all to enjoy.”

Ava’s poster shares the message ‘if we take care of our park it will be like this’ alongside a drawing of a tidy playground.
