Rye Slimming World member conquers Ben Nevis

A Rye woman climbed Ben Nevis after reaching her target weight as a member of Slimming World.

Sheila Caister, who works for the NHS, conquered England’s highest mountain earlier this month in support of Demelza House Children’s Hospice, raising .

Mrs Caister reached her weight loss goal of one stone and 11lb after 12 weeks at Slimming World and decided to take up the challenge as part of her weight loss

She also wanted to support one of her best friends whose son has Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

“It was the hardest thing I’ve ever done,” she said.

“My weight loss was a key factor in completing the challenge.”

Rye Slimming World consultant Lisa Warth congratulated Mrs Caister achievements.

“Sheila is very supportive of the group and she’s one of those members who always tries to help and give other members a boost if they’re struggling,” she said.

“Even though she reached her target weight, she’s still a driving force within the group.”

Rye Slimming World meet on Tuesdays at 5.30pm and 7.30pm and on Wednesdays at 9.30am at Tilling Green School, Mason Road.
