This is all about what makes Littlehampton great, what makes us happy and hope for the future.
5. The Little Lookout
Work on converting the former coastguard tower in Littlehampton into an Airbnb was completed by owners Leila and Cal Leach in July. The historic tower, which had been empty for more than ten years, sits directly on the seafront next to the harbour entrance. Now known as The Little Lookout – it boasts incredible views from the third and fourth floor balconies.
6. Littlehampton Skatepark
The Littlehampton Skate Jam in August saw professional riders helping to officially opening Littlehampton Skatepark. There was an awesome turnout and lots of action in the sunshine. The delayed official opening came two years after the Sea Road skatepark was completed and made available for use.
7. The Bald Kitchen
Social media sensation The Bald Builders launched their new drive-through and café in Climping in October. Brad Hanson from Littlehampton and Sam Hughes from Bognor Regis have attracted more than a million followers on social media with their range of cheeky, funny and informative videos. Their new food business, The Bald Kitchen, can be found in Crookthorne Lane.
8. Giant whale sculpture
A giant whale sculpture constructed in Littlehampton set sail for Dundee on October 14. The 36-metre sculpture was designed by Lee Simmons, 33, from Hertfordshire, for Dundee City Council’s interactive playpark. The design represents the history of whaling out of Dundee and the sculpture was constructed in four separate parts at Littlehampton Welding, having been in the works for 18 months.
