Pevensey Parish Council was awarded just under £1,000 from the #CelebrateNationalLottery25 fund - a scheme set up to bring local communities together - to bring the dog show back in June for its second year.

The parish council chairman Peter Lowton said, “We are so pleased to have been awarded this grant. The dog show offers a platform to educate residents and visitors in responsible dog ownership in a fun, competitive environment.”

The council had a second successful bid for a £1,000 grant this year go to the Friends of Pevensey Playgrounds, a community based organisation which is involved in planning events, notably the Spring and Summer free play sessions.

Mr Lowton said, “It’s great to see Friends of Pevensey Playgrounds also benefitting. Both local initiatives play an important part in the villages. It is important to support local families with the provision of free play sessions, which encourages participation and social opportunities.”

A parish council spokesperson said, “Pevensey Dog Show was a runaway success in 2019 and returns to the village on June 7. The show will feature live entertainment, refreshments and bar, exhibitors and children’s activities in the on site play area.”
