Over the past few months, maintaining our mental health has been an important part of staying well during the challenges we have all been facing. As adults this has been difficult enough but for children missing out on spending time with their friends or at school it has been especially hard.

One way to help younger people express what they’re going through is to write down their feelings and this is where My Happy Journal comes in. The journal, created and written by Kirsty Bell, aims to create a positive mindset for children aged five to 12.

It helps children learn about mindfulness and positivity, whilst building resilience and deeper family connections. My Happy Journal is so much more than a diary, it's a gateway into creativity, imagination and exploration!

This means it’s great for children everywhere and would make a great Christmas gift, especially as customers can get a 10% discount with the code ‘Rockinghorse10’ on any purchase along with a 10 per cent donation from every journal purchased being made to Rockinghorse Children’s Charity.

Kirsty explains why My Happy Journal decided to support the Sussex charity: “We’re absolutely delighted to be partnering with Rockinghorse to support their vital fundraising efforts and invaluable charity work with sick young children in Sussex.

“The incredible work they do at a local level is such a great fit with My Happy Journal and our core values and commitment to supporting the health and wellbeing of young children. We look forward to a long and successful partnership with the team at Rockinghorse. We feel very proud to be able to support such great people and such a fantastic local charity.”

In order to get the thoughts of a young consumer, we have enlisted the help of Isla Fletcher-Bedford, aged 9, from Horsham who has been trying out the journal and has really enjoyed filling in the various pages: “This journal is fantastic! It keeps me entertained when I’m bored and if I’m anxious or worried, it takes those things off my mind. It has lots of fun activities and I am really enjoying filling it in.”

Janella Merritt, corporate fundraising manager from Rockinghorse, is really pleased to be partnering with the My Happy Journal team: “A large part of what we do here at Rockinghorse is making the lives of sick children as good as they can be, and My Happy Journal is a great way to help with this.

“Often being in hospital can be really scary with lots of time to worry about what’s happening but the journal can be a great way for children to express and process their feelings. So, we’re really pleased that My Happy Journal have decided to offer this discount and donation as it’s a great way to help children develop a positive mindset and support the work that we do with sick children at the same time.”
