Growth market

GARDENING enthusiasts were queuing at the door to Ninfield Memorial Hall early on Saturday morning, April 28, as the village’s horticultural society staged its annual plant sale.

Rose Franks, for the group, said: “The event went extremely well and we raised more than £400 for society funds. We’d sold the best and the most within the first of the two hour sale.

“Despite the official drought, recent rain came at just the right time to ensure we had a good range of excellent plants available and I think everyone was thrilled at the outcome.

“Our plant sale has developed quite a reputation over the years, and it was pleasing to see not only local folk but others from further afield coming along to see what was on offer.”
