Gillian Keegan said: "As part of my work as an MP, I try to provide work experience opportunities to people from a variety of different backgrounds, countries and faiths, having previously participated in the Speaker’s Placement Scheme and various international exchanges since then. Last year, my office welcomed an intern to the team as part of the ‘Faith in Politics’ programme: “A year-long internship scheme that uniquely offers a foundation of Catholic faith and spiritual formation for those who believe they may have a vocation to public service in politics or public affairs.” – FaithinPolitics.org.uk

“As part of this programme, the Catholic Bishops Conference England and Wales offers interns accommodation and a stipend to support them with their day-to-day living costs during their time in London. The entirety of this funding went towards supporting this internship experience, as I set out in my original Register of Interests declaration last year.

“The small number of additional contributions I receive help support me in carrying out my duties as an MP and are always declared through the appropriate parliamentary channels."

Conservatives have donations, gifts, and other payments and benefits from 737 sources worth at least £76 million, the data says.
