Eastbourne family’s spontaneous game to thank key workers
Danielle Atkinson and her family, from St Anthony’s Avenue, have been spontaneously donating chocolate and other sweet treats to emergency services, and said the key workers’ responses have been ‘priceless’.
The mother-of-ten said she saw the game posted on a northern Facebook page, which calls the act of spontaneously donating as ‘hits’, and wanted to imitate it in the town to show her appreciation for key workers.

“Their smiles were priceless. They work so hard. Some of them have heard about the game and know what’s coming and some don’t know.”
She said, “Thank you to all key workers for your hard work and putting your lives on the line. If we can say a little thank you back then why not.”
A member of the ambulance crew outside of Langney Shopping Centre wrote on Facebook, “Massive thank you to the lady who has just hit us. Had a very draining job, physically and emotionally, earlier in the shift.
