Wooddale will be closed to maintain road users’ safety until the fly-tipped waste is removed, a Horsham District Council spokeswoman said.

The incident happened yesterday morning (May 11).

She added: “We will be working with West Sussex County Council Highways team in order to deal with the removal of the materials.

“Whilst Horsham District Council is responsible for the removal of fly-tipping the incident is also causing a highway safety issue which will require a West Sussex County Council road closure in order to maintain safety for road users until we can remove the materials.”

The council will follow up any leads and try and catch the culprits based off any information from the rubbish, according to the spokeswoman.
