Gillian Keegan, MP for neighbouring Chichester received £29,860 for the same period.

Andrew Griffith said: “I register any donations I receive with the Parliamentary Authorities in line with the guidelines set out for Members of Parliament, and my donations fall well below the average amount registered among other MPs.

“The article is misleading in implying I personally benefitted: the largest entry reported in relation to Satellite Applications Catapult was an official and working visit with the UK Parliamentary Space Committee to support this important and growing U.K. industry which was also attended by a number of MPs including those from opposition parties.

“Excluding this cross-party visit, I register 369th out of all 650 MPs and fall into the bottom 4% of all funds registered.

“I have no outside employment, second jobs or consultancies. Being the MP for Arundel and South Downs is my only job and I do not draw a ministerial salary.”

Conservatives have donations, gifts, and other payments and benefits from 737 sources worth at least £76 million, the data says.

Former prime minister Theresa May was listed as the top earner outside her parliamentary salary with £2,550,876 being declared.
