Jane O’Sullivan, from Trinity Church Players Horsham, and her helpers decided to make the masks during lockdown after the group had to cancel its fundraising summer concert and January 2021 pantomime.

The events provided a major income for the church in Rushams Road which is the home of the Trinity Church Players.

Jane said: “It’s been fantastic to have the opportunity to do something worthwhile during lockdown. People have made such generous donations and we’ve had some lovely cards and feedback, particularly from people we delivered to because they were housebound or shielding”.

Masks were also offered for free to those who could not afford to make a donation, and on Monday, August 31, Jane delivered 25 masks to Age UK – as part of the charity’s ‘Bags of Support’ appeal – which will be distributed across West Sussex.

The team also supplied 45 masks for The London Sinfonia Orchestra and 50 to Tesco, Broadbridge Heath, whom both made generous donations.

The fundraisers hope to reach a goal of £4,000 and any requests for masks or donations would still be gratefully welcomed.
