Peasmarsh pupils hold their own Country Show

CHILDREN from Peasmarsh Primary School were busy baking and creating tasty produce to raise money for charity.

Produce was entered into a competition held at the school. There were six categories to choose from including, best lemon drizzle cake; most imaginative use of a boiled egg in arts and crafts, creative mini garden, flower arrangement in a cup, tastiest pastry and most delicious loaf.

School Secretary Rachael Veal said: “The school were delighted to welcome members of the local community to judge the categories and would like to say thank you to: Lynne from Peasmarsh Place, Karen from the Horse and Cart, Arthur from Jempsons, Dick Dengate, Father Martin Harper, Mr and Mrs Evans from Rye Rotary, who carried out their difficult duty of choosing a ‘Best in Show’ and runner up from the outstanding entries.

“Lots of the children entered the competition and staff were astonished at the massive creativity of the children.

“All money raised will be sent to the international charity, Medecins Sans Frontieres, upholding the schools mission statement: ‘love learning and love your neighbour as yourself’.”
