BRONZE MEDAL: Congratulations to Simon Munn, Bronze Medallist in the Wheelchair Basketball event at the Rio Paralympics, for TEAM GB. We are looking forward to Simon’s homecoming. Wonderful news in Peacehaven’s centenary year! Peacehaven Town Council are organising a tour of the town for Simon on Monday October 17, calling in at our schools so that the children can see his medal. Further information will be available next week.

WRESTLING SHOW: For all wrestling enthusiasts, the next spectacular at Peacehaven is on Saturday October 22 at 7.30pm, in aid of the Mayor’s local project fund. Tickets are £10 per adult and £9 concessions for a family £36.

SATURDAY CHARITY MARKET: Tomorrow the market will be organised by Peacehaven Scouts.

COFFEE MORNINGS: This week the coffee mornings will be organised by: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, Sussex Pet Rescue; Thursday, Wendy Veck; Friday October 7, Evangelical Free Church.

COMMUNITY CAFÉ: Now open six mornings, in the foyer, Community House, Meridian Centre. Tea, coffee, egg, bacon, sausage sandwiches and cooked breakfasts available. Run by local charities. Monday and Wednesday morning the community café is organised by Sussex Pet Rescue

KNOW DEMENTIA: Memory moments café. Everyone welcome, especially those with memory problems and their family supporter. Every Friday from 10am to 1pm, Anzac Room, Community House. Meridian Centre.

BINGO: As well as monthly Friday Bingo evenings the Mayor will run Monthly Wednesday afternoon sessions. The next Wednesday afternoon session will be on October 12 at 2pm, and the next Friday evening session will be held on October 14 at 7pm both at Community House.

THE DELL: The next car boot sale will be held on Sunday October 9 organised by MENCAP.

CINEMA: The next film at the Peacehaven Cinema will be Golden Years on Wednesday October 19 at 7.30pm, Main Hall, Community House

VANDALISM: Due to the increased vandalism in the town the Town Manager is requesting that residents report any signs of vandalism to the police using reference 47160130209 cad ref: 519. Please do report these issues and any information direct to the Town Council and we shall inform the Police.

QUIZ: The next general knowledge quiz evening at Community House will be held tonight, Friday. Anyone wishing to enter a team of no more than eight players please contact [email protected] the registration fee is just £2 per person. HEARING BUS: The East Sussex Hearing Resource Centre and Adult Social Care mobile unit for deaf, deafened and hard of hearing people will be visiting Peacehaven on Thursday October 27, and will be in the Meridian Centre Service Yard from 10.30am to 12.30pm. The bus is accessible to wheelchair users and representatives will be available to provide individual information and advice on all aspects of hearing loss.
