Organisers at Wings and Wheels, Dunsfold, confirm airshow will go ahead
Organisers have confirmed that the Wings and Wheels Airshow at Dunsfold will take place next weekend.
Following the crash at Shoreham Airshow yesterday (Saturday) in which seven people died, a statement was issued by Wings and Wheels today.
It says: “Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone involved in the tragic events at Shoreham yesterday.
“We are aware that investigations are already underway into the circumstances of the incident. We await any preliminary findings of the AAIB, or the CAA.
“Following discussions today with our Display Director, Teams and Participants, the Dunsfold Wings & Wheels Air Show will continue next weekend.”
The event, at Dunsfold aerodrome, over the border in Surrey, traditionally takes place after the Sussex shows at Eastbourne and Shoreham.
It will take place on Saturday and Sunday August 29/30.
