SNOW: Town centre disgrace

The state of the town centre after the snowfalls last weekend was a disgrace.

My wife and I were in the town mid-morning on Saturday, and it did not seem as if the council had bothered to make any effort to clear the main pedestrian areas for the last shopping weekend before Christmas.

Indeed if any work was carried out, then it was totally inadequate, as most of the town was one large skating rink.

Did anyone in authority bother to check on the situation? I doubt it.

Tax payers deserve and are entitled to a better service than this.

What lame excuse will be trotted out to justify this lack of action.

No staff? No money? It caught us by surprise? Too cold?

Perhaps just once someone will actually have the courage to stand up and say "sorry I did not do my job properly".
