SNOW: Pavements like an ice rink

I am not one to normally complain, but I was incensed when my husband and I decided to park up and walk along the front and into the town.

What we thought would be a nice stroll turned into a nightmare.

We took our lives in our hands and luckily lived!

The last Saturday before Christmas, the town busy with last-minute shoppers and the pavements absolutely lethal!

The pedestrian precinct was like an ice rink, and in the half an hour or so that we braved it, we saw at least five people fall and one ambulance in attendance to one poor woman.

Everyone was trying to walk on the few bits that were ice free and it was chaos!

For goodness sake what do we pay our council tax for? And why do we wonder why Worthing is becoming so unpopular for shoppers?

Not only do we suffer the perils of excessive parking charges but even on two feet, we are subjected to taking our lives in our hands!

A little forethought would not have come amiss this busy last shopping weekend, surely?
