Two-lanes are the way forward in Arundel bypass rethink

The route avoids all of the old town and would have an impact on very little built-up area otherwise.

The Crossbush intersection would need re-designing to improve traffic flow.

This proposal would save a vast expense on building a new route through Binsted, which would ruin yet another large tract of excellent countryside and woodland.

It can well be predicted that the Binsted route would soon become a convenient boundary for developers all too ready to build more housing estates south and west of the town.

I dread to think what the south coast in this area will be like in the near future, if all the housing plans, at such places as Angmering, Wick, and Climping, go ahead.

As for increased traffic in the "built area", especially at rail crossings – it can be imagined.

Our government and planners need to get their heads sorted. The country is over-populated and solving that is the first priority.
