Save local shops

I am dismayed to find that the Roundstone Farm Shop has had to close, due to lack of support.

I know I did not go there very often, probably about once a month, but I always enjoyed my visits, and found lovely fresh vegetables and fruit, and other interesting items.

It is so sad that these independent shops are unable to keep going, mainly due to competition from greedy supermarkets.

I assume that the presence of Asda across the road finally put paid to Roundstone.

I cannot understand why people buy fruit and vegetables from supermarkets.

The produce they sell is not that much cheaper, and although it all looks attractive, this is at the expense of insisting on every item looking perfect, so a lot of perfectly good produce goes to waste.

Fruit sold by independent shops is often fresher than supermarkets, and I think the quality is far superior, even if it doesn’t look quite as good.

So, please do not let the greedy Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury’s etc drive out the independent stores.

Please support these independent shops who give so much better service.
