Rural paths should be for all

Well done to Laura Cooke and the Walking Group for criticising land owners, and relevant councils who are responsible for this.

Having lived in many parts of the UK, particularly London, Kent and Essex, I am just constantly amazed as to how badly neglected the public walks, right of ways and so-called pedestrianised walking areas are not properly, adequately and regularly maintained in and around Rye and East Sussex.

Surely I cannot be the only one who is aware, and complains about this?

During the spring/summer months, I have to constantly email/chase up those responsible for to do the jobs they are supposed to be paid for to do, or responsible for.

Perhaps now that similar observations have been voiced by outside parties, tourists equals bringing money into Rye, something will finally be done?

Especially with increasing groups of people who need to walk /need to get out and exercise more. But dangerous, neglected overgrown vegetation blocking pathways and essential view, stops this from happening.

So I ask all landowners, property owners and those responsible for, to please take an actual walk outside and around where your land and/or property adjoins or responsible for, to see and experience for yourself how/if you can walk in safety and at ease?

Being able to walk in the lovely open countryside, weather permitting is good for you, and it is free! So, please join me.

I am also wanting to hear from people who (like me), have access problems due to disability, for example, wheelchair, mobility scooters, symbol white cane for sight loss users, access aids and equipment users.

As we ALL have the right and need to be able to get out and about.

So, if you want to help me do some thing then please get in touch, as I need more people to help me achieve this, but can not achieve on my own!
