As a local keyworker I have looked forward for a few days holiday with my family to enjoy the lovely weather.

However, when I went to Alexander Park I found the tennis courts locked. Racket in hand I called the council whom told me that despite the government guidelines the council had the decided to keep this facility closed. Why? It is a low risk activity and I would imagine low maintenance.

If it’s a matter of payment for this facility perhaps it could be free, after all I don’t believe the council will be refunding the council tax.

I also noticed the alluring aroma of urine in our beautiful park and on a trip to the beach around Grosvenor Gardens, the smell of urine and faeces in some areas overwhelming.

With the lockdown easing, the toilets need to be reopened for the benefit of local residents and public health.
