On this occasion, put down the pens

G. A. Harris (letters, July 30) misses the point of my letter (Gazette, July 23).

I was not suggesting the abolition of democracy, only that those against change, the new or anything different, might like to lay down their pens for once, in memory of someone who gave so much to Littlehampton.

Anita Roddick was not made a Dame for writing to the newspapers.
