Make Rye’s Landgate Arch no entry

From Sat Navs to signs there has been much talk about the poor old Landgate. The solution is obvious and simple:-

A red circle with a white central horizontal band - ‘NO ENTRY’. [Early hour access for deliveries only].

Very few towns and cities still have traffic thundering through their centres; far less should a 12th century amazingly unique town with very narrow cobbled streets and ancient buildings!

Why should huge HGVs and enormous coaches have right of access to this vulnerable ancient area?

Imagine Rye High Street without traffic and with plenty of outside seating for tourists and residents to sit and think and enjoy.

One sign, no entry, no traffic, job done.
