LETTER: Why so many administrators?
There were 18 vacancies listed and only six appeared to reflect patient care. It seems to boost the administrative staff in this particular field and on top of the situations outlined in a popular daily it would appear that patient care comes second to the staff required to carry out administrative duties.
When are they ever going to get the balance right?

Hide AdThe CCG plans, buys and monitors health services for our communities. Providing improved services for patients requires a combination of both clinical teams and expert health managers with skills to design the right services for our population. All of the vacancies advertised - a mix of new and existing roles working across both CCGs - work alongside our GP clinical directors and clinical leads to improve care and patient experiences. A single advert was placed to save on recruitment costs and employ local people - all within our budgets. Demand on the NHS is growing faster than resources and the need to shape our services to deliver better value to patients for every pound spent is vital.
