High standards at Southwater show

Although the spring flower entries at Southwater Horticultural Society’s Spring Show were fewer than last year - there were no tulips, for example, because of the late season - there were more in the craft sections.

The children from the Southwater Infants Academy put in an amazing number of exhibits - so much so that we ran out of table space and had to put pictures on the walls and windows!

All the judges were, as always, pleased with the high standards of entries and the best exhibit in the show, chosen from among the best exhibits in each section, was a perfect jar of marmalade from Mrs Pat Chapman, scoring an enviable 20 out of 20.

Pictured above is Den Collins and Linda Briggs, who were both multiple winners.
