Easy way to get slats

IN response to Susan Brophy-le May (Gazette letters, July 30), there is a website where children and families can buy a slat or part or a slat for as little as £15 and put their names or a message of their choice on it (visit www.thelongestbenchintheworld.com).

Also, thanks to the generosity of Gordon Roddick and Cabe, the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment, there are sufficient funds to build the bench. The idea of raising extra money is to enable the children and families in and outside Littlehampton to make it even longer.
