Cycle path has become a hazard

The route from Monkbretton Bridge to the Camber road is very rough and the path put in by Sustrans (Government) is overgrown and covered in fine grit which punctures tyres. I am writing from experience.

A tarmac path such as has been put down in Kent is a pleasure to ride on and is a benefit to families with buggies, pushchairs etc. Safety is very important. I remember a teacher riding a bike being killed on the road to Camber. More recently a cyclist was killed on the Rye Harbour Road, not long after a cycle and pedestrian path has been built and very good it is too and I am sure it is much appreciated.

Sportif riders on racing bikes travel at about 20mph so would not use the path. It has been Government policy, previous and present, to encourage cycling hence the Sustrans cycle paths all over the country.

I believe it is the local Governments duty to maintain them.

As for the roads, Military Road was full of pot holes on the Kent side, they repaired them on the Sussex side, they were filled in. This did not last long and now there are pot holes again. I had to replace a back wheel because of a pot hole.
