LETTER: Remarkable achievement

The audiences were absolutely blown away by the production of Les Miserables which The Forest School in Horsham put on over four consecutive nights last week.

What an ambitious project, but wow, they certainly pulled it off in spectacular form!

Wonderfully expressive singing and acting of such a talented group of boys from Forest School and girls from Millais, supported by a fantastic band performance made up of a huge range of instruments and gifted musicians.

It all came to life with the sound systems, the lighting, special effects and props - I know that a large number of faculties at the school played a part in pulling this off with many staff and a huge number of pupils – and even some ex-pupils - involved. Congratulations to each and every one of you for a truly remarkable achievement.

As an extremely proud parent, I think I speak for many when I extend my gratitude to Mrs Bowen-Melfi and her team of supporting staff who put so many months of time and devotion into making it possible for this group of boys and girls.

It is an experience that they will never forget and they will all have gained a huge amount from it. We should all applaud and appreciate the staff, and these brilliant, dedicated, talented teenagers who worked so hard and really did show us all what they are capable of, given the chance.
