Grit bins needed for the next big freeze

HERE we go again, what's changed since February 2010?

Nothing, nothing at all. No extra salt or grit bins, hence no grit or salt.

Council taxpayers left unable to get out to work or shops due to no grit on the roads or pavements.

Those who happen to live in some of the Hastings outback roads deserve better.

Heavens be praised that it rained Friday night and Saturday and washed most of the snow and ice away.

We need to have our act together for next time, though, with grit bins at vantage points.
