Put your Hands Up! if you can help Chestnut Tree

We have just launched our new campaign for East Sussex, and we are asking local people to put their Hands Up if they can help.

At the moment we care for 300 children with life-shortening conditions and their families, including 55 in East Sussex, but we know that there are more families out there who need our help. With this new campaign we are aiming to double the number of children we are looking after here, but we need help to do that.

People assume that we are a West Sussex charity, but we work with families across the whole of East and West Sussex. We need to change this perception and let people know that we can offer care for children with life-shortening conditions and their families in Eastbourne, Hastings, Lewes, Uckfield, Rye and beyond.

It costs well over £3 million pounds every year to offer all of our care services, and as we reach more children this figure will increase. We receive less than 8% of our funding from central government so we rely on the generosity of the local community to keep our doors open.

We’re not asking people to put their hands in their pockets right now, we’re asking them to put their hands in the air and say ‘Yes I’ll help.’ That might mean getting your company involved, holding a fundraising event, volunteering, spreading the word or taking part in one of our sponsored challenges. Whatever your skills and passions we are sure we have the perfect opportunity for you to get involved so we would love to hear from you.
