The Arun Sunshine Group offers a special outreach programme to help adults with learning disabilities get the most out of life.

The charity, which is based at Dove Lodge, in Beach Road, Littlehampton, is now hunting for a new volunteer session worker to brighten the lives of those supported by the good cause.

The position would see session workers organising games and entertainment as well as taking a role in arranging occasional day trips across the county.

Activities could range from playing pool, board games or skittles, to arts and crafts, creating jigsaws and taking part in bingo.

The group meets at the lodge on alternate Sundays, between 2-5pm.

No special skills are required for the role, applicants are asked to be enthusiastic, caring and willing to help.

The project also offers ‘workplace champions’ to help motivate those wishing for a healthier lifestyle, while they are at work.

Applicants may undertake a range of roles, from supporting families where one person is trying to achieve a health outcome to accompanying people to activity groups or swimming.

Workplace champions could provide regular weigh-ins and looking at what healthy food is available for the person they are helping.
