Family pays tribute to motorcyclist killed in Climping

THE family of a motorcyclist who died following a collision in Climping, last week, have paid tribute to a ‘loving husband, son, brother, father and friend’.

Robert ‘Jacko’ Giacopazzi, of Bognor Regis, was riding his Yamaha bike when he collided with a red Vauxhall Corsa, on Sunday, August 25.

The incident happened just before 2pm in Crookthorn Lane, at the junction with Yapton Road – a known accident black spot.

Today (Tuesday, September 3) Sussex Police has released a statement from the 48-year-old’s grieving family.

It said: “Jacko was a loving husband, son, brother, father and friend.

“He was an amazing person who everybody loved and who loved life and loved sharing his life with his family and friends.

“A special person who will leave a huge hole not only in our hearts but in the whole of Bognor and beyond.”

Ambulance paramedics were joined by an air ambulance team, but were unable to save the Mr Giacopazzi who died at the scene.

The road was closed for five hours while rescue, recovery and investigation work took place.

Tributes poured out on Facebook in the wake of the tragedy.

Carol Berry wrote: “R.I.P Robert Giacopazzi thinking of you and all your family and friends xxx.”

Maggie Harris said: “You never know what life has in store for you or what is around the corner live life to the full. RIP Robert Giacopazzi you were a top bloke.”
