Ninfield braces itself for Bank Holiday whacky races

THE clowns came out in Ninfield this week in preparation for the annual village wacky races on Bank Holiday Monday.

This popular Ninfield event is open to anyone brave enough to race a cart or pram the length of Manchester Road, calling at the beer or squash stops along the route.

There are separate contests across the age ranges, a fun mixed- age race and prizes for the best fancy dress.

There is even a chance for competitors to pit themselves against the Parish Council's speed camera, SID.

For non-participants there will be refreshments, a barbecue and betting on the tote.

Racing gets underway at 11.30am at the Blacksmiths Arms, Ninfield.
