Next Wave exhibition

That was the message from Councillor Michael Ensor as he addressed members of Bexhill Town Forum this week.

The exhibition opens on Saturday October 3 and members of the public can examine it from 10-4pm.

The Next Wave project is concerned with re-generation of the seafront and the exhibition will include designs for the De La Warr terrace, Metropole Lawn and the promenade at West Parade.

The exhibition is being held by RDC in conjunction with HTA Architects who have been handling the design - their team will be on hand to talk through the process that has brought the project to the present moment and answer any questions.

There will also be chance for the public to give their thoughts and feelings on the Next Wave scheme.

Councillor Ensor said: "You will be surprised at the designs that are going to be proposed.

"Hold judgement until you have seen the designs and proposals that will be presented at the museum on that date."

Concerns that Next Wave would mean an end to crazy golf and putting on the green next to the De La Warr Pavilion were raised at the Forum by resident Jean Bishop.

She wondered if there was any plan to move these activities into the new Play Zone under discussion at Egerton Park, where children's playground facilities are to be improved, and was assured by Rother chief executive Derek Stephens that there was not.
