Tragedy came to a Little Common family early on Saturday morning when Karl Besbeech's father, Steve, found his son's body in the garden of their Barnhorn Road home.

"He had a lot of friends. But he was quite troubled as well really. He had a few head problems.

"He came from Crawley. He had been down here four or five years. He had been back up to Crawley but he had decided to make a life for himself down here.

"This was where he wanted to be more than anything else.

"Steve found him at about 7.20 in the morning. It was terrible. Karl was a lovely lad."

Karl's funeral will be at St Mark's Church, Little Common on May 7 at 2.45pm followed by cremation at Hastings.

The Coroner has been informed of Karl's death.
