Littlehampton is showing its cards and going green

HOW green can Littlehampton go?

Townspeople are being urged to show their commitment to the cause by putting green challenge cards in their windows.

As part of the Greening Littlehampton campaign, launched earlier this month, the cards, setting out nine simple ways residents can do their bit for the environment, have been sent to every household in the town.

People are asked to adopt at least five of the changes, which include like using energy efficient lightbulbs and not driving for journeys of under one mile, and place the card in their windows to be counted.

Chairman of the campaign, Dr James Walsh, said: "Over the next two weeks, we will be counting the cards displayed, and from that we can calculate how much money residents have saved on their energy bills and by how much CO2 emissions have been reduced."

Vice-chairman, Anna-Lisa Nagel, added that she expected the town to have reduced its carbon footprint considerably.

"It really is easy to do and it will make a world of difference. And residents are welcome to join the campaign and help."
