Further improvements are planned in the near future and Brian Griffiths, Parks Technical Officer, who managed the refurbishment, said: "We will protect the area with a safety fence and trees will be planted later in the year to make it feel more like a park."

Enjoying an afternoon at the play area with his Grandmother Mrs Janet Woodley, youngster Cameron Driver said that he thought the park was: "Very good; I really like the spinning top but my favourite is the big swing."

Mrs Woodley said she also thought the park was; "A great improvement. The surfaces are very reassuring for if the children were to take a tumble."

This is one of many play areas that the Council are hoping to refurbish in the near future as part of their Play Strategy developed in conjunction with the Rother Play Partnership,

It plans to provide play facilities for children within easy reach of their homes by accessing some of the 200,000.00 of Big Lottery Funding which has been earmarked specifically for play.
